Creation Transformation

The highlight of May’s Inspiration is a music video I’ve created. The photos and time-lapses featured are drawn from my night photography collection, captured across Washington State over the past few years.

I originally wrote the chorus lyrics when my daughters were still young. One of my favorite bedtime routines was singing the classic Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star with them. One night, as I sang the line, “…how I wonder what you are…,” a thought struck me: I know what the stars are—they are God’s witness in the sky! Inspired, I rewrote the lyrics and began singing this new version to them.

Recently, I completed the song by adding the remaining lyrics and composing the melody. The Scripture referenced comes from Psalm 148:3–6, 13.

Watch it on a big screen, turn up the volume, and enjoy!

May 11, 2024, at 1:48 AM, during the 2024 Colorama Festival in Grand Coulee this iconic photo of Steamboat Rock silhouetted against a stunning display of the Northern Lights was captured.

In recognition of the festival and as an apt description of the jubilant colors in the composition, the photo is entitled Colorama. A one-of-a-kind capture, this photo documents a rare natural phenomenon as an inspiration to all who enjoy the beauty of the Grand Coulee area.

I wrote an Inspiration about this photography adventure May 18, 2024 called Your Unveiling is Coming! But May’s inspiration and the photo on the 2026 calendar is the first time to feature the photo Colorama. Limited edition prints are available upon request.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

– 2 Corinthians 5:17

So, what is the new? How much of it do we not yet understand? What parts do we underestimate? What feels beyond our reach or outside our experience?

Recently, I encountered a “new.” Roxanne asked what I thought, and I immediately said, “That’s good news!” And isn’t that the Gospel—the Good News?

Over the past few years, I’ve spent many nights under the stars with my camera and tripod. At first, I can only see the brightest stars. But as my eyes adjust, more stars begin to appear. Then, with a long exposure, even more are revealed—stars beyond what I could ever see on my own.

I’ve found that the deeper I go in knowing Jesus and understanding what this new truly means, the more I realize the vastness of what is already ours in Him—far beyond measure.

Thanks for joining me on this Good News journey.

Twinkle Little Star

The heavens declaring God’s glory!
The earth revealing His story.

Jesus proclaimed through the works of His hand.
Day and night announcing His plan.

All immersed in God’s wonderous love.
Power, deity displayed from above.

No excuse for those in the earth.
Creation shows us our worth.

Twinkle, twinkle little star,
Jesus tells me what you are!

Up above the world so high,
You’re God’s witness in the sky!

Twinkle, twinkle little star,
Shine His glory near and far!

Twinkle, twinkle little star,
Shine His glory near and far!

He calls each star by its name.
Each numbered, not one the same.

God is great and mighty in power.
Our refuge, fortress,  and strong tower!

He lifts the humble and heals the broken.
His forceful word. He has spoken.

Sing to the Lord. Thank Him ever!
His mercy and love cannot be severed!

Praise Him, sun and moon;
Praise Him, all you stars of light!

Praise Him, you heavens of heavens,
And you waters above the heavens!

Let them praise the name of the LORD,
For He commanded and they were created.

He also established them forever and ever;
He made a decree which shall not pass away.

For His name alone is exalted;
His glory is above the earth and heaven.

Psalm 148:3-6, 13

Twinkle, twinkle little star,
Jesus tells me what you are!

Up above the world so high,
You’re God’s witness in the sky!

Twinkle, twinkle little star,
Shine His glory near and far!

Twinkle, twinkle little star,
Shine His glory near and far!
