“Therefore He says, Awake, O sleeper,

and arise from the dead,

and Christ shall shine (make day dawn) upon you and give you light.” ~Ephesians 5:14

Awake! The call goes out to all who are asleep. Hidden in darkness. Unconscious of life. Existing entrapped in a formless void. Lifeless. Hopeless. Purposeless. Broken from God.

Arise! The seed that dies in the earth will sprout anew.

Jesus implores, “Arise”! The command of His voice raises from death to life. Light and life for the sleeper. Restored relationship with Creator and through Jesus, now your Father.

Christ Himself will shine upon you. He gives you light. It’s yours to possess. The Spirit of Jesus inside you and the glory of His presence flooding over you. Saturated in His light and life!

Joy unspeakable and full of glory! You are His Joy! It was for the Joy set before Him that Jesus endured the cross and is now risen and seated at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2)!

Awake, O Sleeper!

Listen to the sound of His voice! Pay attention. He’s calling you. Yearning for you. He will bring you out from the shadows. Sleeper, can you hear?

Let Him shine upon you.

Arise!
