LOVE IN THREE WAYS
A poem inspired by a beach walk with the Lord.
I told the Lord I loved Him as we walked along the beach.
“I love the way you saved me, gave me life abundantly!
I love the way you loved me, in that you set me free!”
“I know you love me, son,” was the whisper in my ear.
And here’s some wisdom more, to make it very clear.
“You love me with your words, your confession oh so dear.
I treasure this forever and know that you’re sincere.
“Do you love your brethren? Siblings in our family?
Will you feed my sheep in service happily?
“Not hold a grudge against another I have called my own?
No bitterness or judgment? No casting angry stones?
“Have you, my son, considered love shown in the rugged cross?
Facing trials joyfully, and counting all things loss?
“The cross is where your love is shown and my glory is revealed!
Brokenness, fellowship, and intimacy healed.
“I know that you love Me. Your words are ever true.
And loving your brethren shows that you love Me too.
“Your daily cross to be like Jesus, you joyfully embrace.
It’s your way to say I love you and live My life of faith.”
“I’m so glad we talked along the beach in fellowship today.
I really, truly love you, Lord, in each of these three ways!”

FEATURED INSPIRATIONAL PHOTO
I awoke with an urgent compel from the Lord to grab the camera and get out on the beach. The morning sun was just about to crest the tree line in the dissipating fog. The tide was freshly out exposing untouched sand. I asked the Lord which direction I should walk, and we decided south. Shortly I turned toward the sun and from a sandbar on the beach photographed the scene before you. The Lord had much to talk about as we continued down the beach. I have summarized our conversation in this poem: Love in Three Ways.
