PEACE IN INTIMACY

Circumstances toppled the status quo. Nothing would be the same again.

But, In JESUS, you will have peace.

A turbulent transition was at hand. Hours before facing the cross, Jesus finishes the Jewish Passover meal with His disciples, advising them, praying for them. The events that were to unfold would tip His dear friends on their heads.

But, In JESUS, you will have peace.

Can you relate? Everything is moving along just fine, and then… wham! You are on your back looking up, asking questions – so many questions!

That evening Jesus comforts and reassures, to strengthen them. To strengthen us.

“These things have I spoken to you, that IN Me YOU may have PEACE. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” ~ John 16:33

True authentic peace found IN JESUS. YOU in HIM and Him in YOU – the Vine and the branches (John 15). Jesus said, “IN ME…”, the Prince of Peace. You own it. You possess it. It is yours by right of relationship.

But, In JESUS, you will have peace.

Your peace in Jesus is a magnificent display of beauty!

Peace. Inherited through intimate relational ONENESS with JESUS. IN HIM. Where do you end, Where does Jesus begin? It is indistinguishable. Your identity and the personality and character of Jesus become ONE.

The branch in the VINE is ONE plant. Separated, the branch dies. Proximity does not equal oneness. Getting close to Jesus via church meetings, divine works, religious practices, or sacred traditions does not equal oneness. A close branch will die just as well as a distant one.

But, In JESUS, you will have peace.

Oneness. It is the place of peace. An overcoming peace endued with divine power to face every circumstance and transition of the world with cheerful boldness and grace. Why? Because Jesus has overcome and we are one.

When I gaze at the autumn trees I am reminded of my ONENESS with Jesus and the peace that is inherent. The branch, ONE with the tree, responds to the dropping temperatures with a display of magnificent colors as the leaves drop to cover the roots with a winter blanket. All is at peace within the tree. The branch is secure. Preparations are being made for next year’s fruit.

Your peace in Jesus is a magnificent display of beauty! Did you realize it? Has anyone told you? The world can’t give this kind of divine peace. It doesn’t understand it. It can’t imitate it. Whatever season, remember: You are ONE with Jesus – IN HIM you possess peace! Your life, a brilliant display.

But, In JESUS, you will have peace.
