PEACE IS POWER
Walk in joyful triumph.
Does joyful triumph characterize your daily walk?
A triumphant walk? Every day? Sound like a fantasy?
I’m no expert. I can trudge along just surviving with the best of them. I’m even a seasoned complainer. But that’s a topic for another time.
Here’s the truth: The God of Peace causes Satan to be crushed under YOUR feet. Period.
“And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.” ~ Romans 16:20
If that’s not a triumphant walk, I don’t know what is. It’s YOUR triumphant walk.
If anyone has reason to complain about overwhelming defeat, it’s the devil.
Past: He was crushed at the cross when Jesus died and was resurrected.
“Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” ~Colossians 2:15
Present: He is kept underfoot by Jesus’ Church NOW.
“…on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” ~ Matthew 16:18b”
“…be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might… that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” ~ Ephesians 6:11 (See also Ephesians 1:22)
Future: The devil will be cast into the lake of fire and his ability to deceive and harm people will be forever destroyed.
“Then comes the end… For He [Jesus] must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.” ~ 1 Corinthians 15:24-25
“The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and… will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” ~ Revelation 20:10
You walk in power, just like Jesus! He has authorized you to walk like Jesus – it is your entitlement and your responsibility.
My friend, walk in JOYFUL TRIUMPH! The God of Peace has authorized you to crush the devil under your feet.
The Prince of Peace (Jesus), made a rather stark declaration about His purpose:
“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.” ~ Matthew 10:34
Jesus was not a pacifist. He came to crush Satan’s head (Genesis 3:15) and destroy the devil and his works (Hebrews 2:14 and 1 John 3:8).
It is significant that the divine supernatural crushing force is the God of PEACE.
When Jesus’ birth was announced by the host of angels they declared, “…And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” ~ Luke 2:14
When Jesus stated His mission, was He contradicting the angels?
Ephesians 2:17 states that Jesus came and preached peace to those near and far. The peace Jesus brought humankind was reconciliation with God the Father – the gospel message, the GOOD NEWS!
The Prince of Peace introduced supernatural peace with God. To me. To YOU!
Jesus crushed evil with every step of His earthly journey. The Prince of Peace was ruthless against anything that would hinder people from finding peace with God. Jesus was not nice to demons, sickness, or deception. Jesus dealt violently with religious facades and spoke harshly against religious traditions and those who propagated them.
Because of peace [with God], You walk in power, just like Jesus! He has authorized you to walk like Jesus – it is your entitlement and your responsibility.
You crush the devil under YOUR feet.
With what?
YOUR FEET which are shod with the “preparation of the gospel of PEACE.” It’s an essential component of your battle attire in Ephesians 6.
Your feet, wearing shoes of the gospel of peace, empowered by the Prince of Peace – CRUSHING!
This sounds like a triumphant walk to me.
“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge [gospel message] in every place.” ~2 Corinthians 2:14-16
The devil has no peace. He walks in fear – fear of YOU and the message that you carry – the message that you ARE in Jesus!
So, let me ask you again, “Does joyful triumph characterize your daily walk?”
Maybe if we align our perspective with the truth, it will transform our daily experience and we will begin to recognize the POWER in PEACE.
