YAHWEH. Israel’s KEEPER.

These words from Psalm 121:4 resounded in my ears. The covenant of God reveals His character – FAITHFUL, TRUE, JUST, and the very substance of LOVE! His promises never fail. He is trustworthy and He is good!

Tears fill my eyes as I witness images on the news of the tragic suffering in The October 7^th attack on Israel.

YAHWEH. Israel’s KEEPER. The LORD is with you:

“Behold, I [Yahweh] am with you [Jacob] and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”  ~ Genesis 28:15

While this latest attack is unprecedented in recent history, Israel has been maliciously assaulted and divinely preserved throughout history. Satan continues his age-old conspiracy to thwart God’s plan and he employs human instruments (peoples, clans, nations) as his weapons to carry it out.

YAHWEH is Israel’s KEEPER. He chose Israel in love:

The LORD did not choose Israel because they had become a great, powerful nation. He chose them when they were the least of all people. He singled them out because He set His love upon them.

“For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the LORD loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.” ~ Deuteronomy 7:6-8

YAHWEH is Israel’s KEEPER. Israel was a chosen vessel bearing the light:

“I, the LORD, have called You [Israel] in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles, To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the prison, Those who sit in darkness from the prison house.” ~ Isaiah 42:6-7

Israel facilitated Jesus’ arrival on the stage of history. When Jesus arrived as a man, Israel didn’t recognize Him and persecuted Him as an imposter. Jesus was sent first to the lost sheep of the House of Israel and He was largely rejected. However, many Jews did recognize Him, and when Jesus rose from the dead and empowered them with the indwelling Holy Spirit of Jesus, the entire world was introduced to Jesus!

God’s plan for Israel is not finished. Now, we, the ecclesia of God’s Kingdom, pray for the healing of Israel and their salvation in Jesus.

“For I [Apostle Paul] do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:”

‘The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.’” ~ Romans 11:25-27

YAHWEH is Israel’s KEEPER. He does not abandon His flock.

In the midst of the chaos, hate, anger, and war YAHWEH is not asleep. He is not taken by surprise. He is ENGAGED. May we recognize His hand at work and listen carefully to His voice. Let us align ourselves to His heart and mind so that we might effectively pray the will of God, engaging in His plan and see it “…done on earth as it is in heaven.”

YAHWEH is your KEEPER too.

Thank you, YAHWEH, for Israel. Thank you for sending YESHUA to your beloved people. Thank you for manifesting your glory in YESHUA and showing us your kingdom. Thank you for making a way that we can come boldly before your throne of grace.

Thank you, YAHWEH, for not abandoning your people, Israel. I pray for an awakening amongst your people! I pray for healing so that they might see and embrace YESHUA. I pray the peace of YAHWEH would enfold Jerusalem as His people gather under the wings of YESHUA.

I say to you, Israel, “YAHWEH bless you and keep you. YAHWEH make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; YAHWEH lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.”

All the nations of the earth are watching you, Israel. YAHWEH’s gifts and calling are irrevocable (Romans 11:29). You are called as a light to the nations. In the conflict, I pray you will manifest the presence of YESHUA to the world by clinging to Him. Mercy. Courage. Faith. Humility. Forgiveness.

“From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep.” ~ Psalm 121:1-4

“The LORD their God will save them [Israel] in that day, as the flock of His people. For they shall be like the jewels of a crown, lifted like a banner over His land—for how great is its goodness and how great its beauty!” ~ Zechariah 9:16-17a

YAHWEH is your KEEPER too. He set His LOVE upon YOU! YAHWEH has given YOU His light to shine in the darkness. YAHWEH will NEVER abandon YOU. Do not be afraid.

“For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we may boldly say: ‘The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?’”

~ Hebrews 13:5b-6
