COUNSELOR!
This is Jesus.
Stumbling in the darkness. Lost. A mind that is troubled and unanchored. Drifting, caught in currents of despair. Without direction or purpose. Overwhelmed in guilt and regret. Underwhelmed in peace and joy. Seeking without finding. Feasting, yet famished and malnourished.
In the shadows of the lonely soul are whispers of fear, despair, death…
Darkness is a heavy blanket of hopelessness. A blind heart. A murky mind – colorless, lifeless, cold, rigid, dead. Tormenting voices that speak of worthlessness and bolster self-righteousness.
Our forefathers betrayed their relationship with Creator. We have inherited the curse of enmity with God. The condition of sin is upon humankind. The land lay barren, bereft of life and light. Destitute. Doomed.
But wait… All is not lost…
A LIGHT has risen in the darkness.
He shines upon all who dwell in the land of the shadow of death. LIGHT born from the womb of darkness carrying the breath of LIFE! A whirlwind of LOVE embracing humanity with divine favor.
His name is called COUNSELOR! And He has brought His WISDOM to you!
His name is called COUNSELOR!
Advisor! Consultant! Guide! Mentor! Motivator! Benefactor!
His name is called COUNSELOR! And His COUNSEL stands forever! (Psalm 33:11)
The Spirit of Jesus is our COUNSELOR (helper) who teaches us all things and helps us remember everything Jesus said! (John 14:26)
He counsels, “Where are your accusers? Go and sin no more…” and Jesus deletes condemnation!
He enlightened religious authorities, “…unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” And a pharisee finds life and eternity.
He counsels a woman to face her past and trades in shame for life. “But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
The Counselor sees the paralyzed man, one whom countless others passed by. “Do you want to be made well? Rise, take up your bed and walk. And sin no more.” And the impossible becomes possible.
Being made human, He empathizes with humankind’s sorrow, suffering, and emotional distress. “Jesus wept.” And raises the dead to life!
Jesus set His path to merge with theirs. Alongside them, He walked, listening sympathetically to their story as they unleashed their sadness and confusion. His advice brought clarity and understanding to their tragic events. His reassuring presence motivated their faith and belief burst forth hope from despair.
His name is called COUNSELLOR! And He has brought His WISDOM to you!
Because of His GREAT LOVE.
Grateful! Relieved! Confident! Hopeful! Peaceful!
Do you know COUNSELOR?
Relationship! Intimacy! Experience!
Embrace His LIGHT! Inhale His LIFE! Prepare your HEART! Open your DOOR! Share your SECRETS! Expose your Wounds!
His WORD is a lamp to your feet and LIGHT to your path. Your ears will hear a WORD behind you saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.” Trust in the LORD with all your heart as He is your familiar friend… and He will direct your paths. He will instruct and teach you in the way you should go. He will guide you with His eye. The God of all comfort comforts you in all your tribulations. Your comfort abounds through Jesus.
“You will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity…”
“I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.
I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved… You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
Let COUNSELOR know you! Invite Him into secret places. Welcome Him into intimacy.
Let Him guide you! Counsel you! Mentor you! Motivate you! Correct you! Provide for you!
His name is called COUNSELOR!
His is a kingdom of justice and judgment on your behalf. He will establish it in you from this time forth and forever! Of the increase of His government and peace, there will be no end!
His jealous passion for you will perform His name in your life! COUNSELOR!
In Jesus = COUNSELOR!
“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined.” ~ Isaiah 9:2
“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful,
COUNSELOR,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” ~ Isaiah 9:6
“Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.” ~ Isaiah 9:7

“Clarity”
From Hurricane Ridge, I stood stunned as I looked north across the sharp peaks of the Olympic Mountains on the Washington State Olympic Peninsula. The clouds that had shrouded the view in the early morning were lifting. As the skies cleared, so did the view. By the end of the day, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, could be seen across the Straits of Juan de Fuca. When Jesus does His COUNSELING work in us, He clears away the clouds so we can see with clarity the hidden beauty of the life He has created for us to walk in.
