WONDERFUL!
This is Jesus.
In the shadows are whispers of fear, despair, death…
Uncertain doom cloaked heavily upon our shoulders. Labored breaths, failing strength, wading through the heavy mire of failure and inferiority. Short of resources and outcast from the life of God. Demons circle like vultures – taunting, tormenting, cold, creepy opportunists.
Our forefathers betrayed their relationship with Creator. We have inherited the curse of enmity with God. The condition of sin is upon humankind. The land lay barren, bereft of life and light. Destitute. Doomed.
But wait… All is not lost…
A LIGHT has risen in the darkness.
He shines upon all who dwell in the land of the shadow of death. LIGHT born from the womb of darkness carrying the breath of LIFE! A whirlwind of LOVE embracing humanity with divine favor.
He is called WONDERFUL. He has brought His WONDERMENT to you.
His name is called WONDERFUL!
Marvelous! Astonishing! Extraordinary! Incomprehensible! Miraculous! Indescribable!
His name is called WONDERFUL! And WONDERFUL are His works!
His works are MARVELOUS, and my soul knows them very well!
He speaks “peace be still,” and the storm ceases!
He commands, “come forth!” and the dead are raised to life!
He sends forth His word, and the sick are healed!
He declares freedom, and captives lose their chains!
He stretches forth his hand and the lame walk!
He rehearses His words, “As it is written…” and the devil is defeated!
He gazes into the weary eyes of the soul, and hope is ignited!
He braids a whip, strikes and overturns the tables of oppression, hypocrisy, and deception in His zeal to see people become living temples for His Father!
He humbles himself and bends close to raise us to sit with Him in heavenly places!
His name is called WONDERFUL! And He has brought His WONDERMENT to earth!
Because of His GREAT LOVE.
Awestruck! Speechless! Breathless! Undone! Trembling!
Do you know WONDERFUL?
Relationship! Intimacy! Experience!
Embrace His LIGHT! Inhale His LIFE! Prepare your HEART! Open your DOOR! Share your SECRETS! Expose your Wounds!
Let WONDERFUL know you!
Transform you! Shape you! Conform you! Restore you!
His name is called WONDERFUL!
His is a kingdom of justice and judgment on your behalf. He will establish it in you from this time forth and forever! Of the increase of His government and peace, there will be no end!
His jealous passion for you will perform His name in your life! WONDERFUL!

Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death,

“For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;

Early in the morning, in the coulee at the edge of Banks Lake, the unexpected. Behind me and towering above me, the coulee walls cast their shadow on Steamboat Rock. As the sun ascended behind me, the shadow line descended before me and synchronized with the setting moon—the shadow line as the needle of a gauge.
